I feel so lucky to live here in the suburbs of Atlanta. There are so many wonderful places to explore, none of which are too far from home. With winter break coming up for Cobb and Cherokee County Schools, I wanted to dedicate this blog post to Blue Ridge, GA. Blue Ridge is one of my most favorite places to visit and it’s less than a 90 minute drive north. Ranked by Southern Living Magazine as one of the South’s Best Mountain Towns, if you haven’t made the trip – do it!
Things to do in Blue Ridge
Of course there are some wonderful hiking trails in Blue Ridge, but there’s also mountain biking trails, waterfalls, fishing, water sports, apple picking, train rides, and more. Everytime I visit Blue Ridge, Mercier Orchards is a stop I have to make. Their cider donuts are to die for!
After a nice hike, I love a cold beer. You’ve got several choices, but one of my favorite things to do is hit up local breweries. You can check out Grumpy Old Men Brewing or Fannin Brewing Company. Either place is sure to satisfy.

This great town has it all. Hotels, bed & breakfasts, vacation rentals, log cabins, campgrounds, and resorts. During the winter months, I much prefer a cabin in the mountains with a hot tub and fireplace. You can visit Cabin Rentals of Blue Ridge to plan your next trip. Prefer to camp? Maybe glamping is more your style? There are so many options for you in Blue Ridge.
